Have you ever wondered how many grams of protein, fat or other nutrients are in your favourite food? Here are some answers from the USA department of agriculture. The original data come from "USDA Nutrient Data Base for Standard Reference", and are available on the net, (and you can search by name!) so you may want to look there for more detailed information.
The USDA also provides tables which you can view or print (if you have a LOT of printer paper!) with Adobe Acrobat. The tables have the same information as I provide here.
The USA government printing office used to sell printed copies of this information, but it looks like they don't any more. There's a CD-ROM version available. Go here, enter "nutrient" and click "submit".
